The South East Wales Transport Alliance (Sewta) has released a report looking at possible improvements to rail provision along the Abergavenny – Newport line for public consultation.
Undertaken by consultants Capita Symonds on behalf of Sewta, the report, Abergavenny to Newport Rail Corridor Option Development and Appraisal, recommends:
• Improvements to Abergavenny, Pontypool & New Inn and Cwmbran stations
• A new station at Caerleon
• Train Service Frequency Enhancements

Sewta is keen to obtain the views of the public and interested organisations and groups as part of a formal public consultation exercise.
