Sewta briefing helps Assembly Members track transport

AMs and their staff yesterday attended a special briefing by Sewta to keep members of the National Assembly for Wales up to date on sustainable transport in South East Wales.

After a welcome from Sewta Chair, Rhondda Cynon Taf Councillor Andrew Morgan, the Chair of the Sewta Directorate, John Duddridge, gave a presentation on the work of Sewta, its aims and objectives, and its future plans to secure an integrated transport system for South-East Wales. Cardiff South and Penarth AM Vaughan Gething hosted the briefing and question and answer session at the Welsh Assembly on Monday July11th 2011.

Sewta is now well into the second year of its Regional Transport Plan Five Year Programme, and is presently reviewing proposals for years three to five. Sewta has also recently released the Sewta Rail Strategy Review for public consultation.
